Dive the Legendary Coral Cliff

Named for its towering fossilized coral cliff and historic viewing balconies at the southernmost tip of the Sinai, this dive site once offered a unique vantage point to observe sharks in deep waters. Although they are now only occasionally seen, the site's name still evokes that storied past.

The Dive Experience

Begin your adventure underneath the cliff, just before reaching the second viewing balcony. Here, the wall plunges to approximately 65 meters, but the sweet spot for your dive is between 15 and 18 meters. As you follow the undulating wall to your right, keep an eye on the open blue water—turtles often glide by, and large schools of jacks add bursts of activity along the way.

Vibrant Marine Life & Coral Landscapes

The south-facing sections of the wall benefit from nutrient-rich currents, nurturing soft corals that burst in vibrant shades of red, purple, yellow, and green. In contrast, the north-facing walls, where sunlight is scarce, are adorned with hard corals, intriguing overhangs, and ledges where starfish make frequent appearances.

After the wall makes a sharp turn below the main observatory balcony, pause to admire a magnificent large fan coral resting on a ledge. Here, if the current permits, take a moment to search for the long-nose hawkfish tucked among its branches.

Keep Your Eyes Open

True to its name, don’t miss the chance to spot sharks. While they are no longer as abundant as they once were, these majestic creatures can still be seen in the clear blue waters to your left.

Embark on this dive to experience a blend of historical allure, dramatic underwater topography, and vibrant marine biodiversity.
