Ras Mohammed Dive Sites
Dive Sites in Sharm El SheikhRas Mohammed National
Park
In 1983, the
tip of the Sinai Peninsula was designated Ras
Mohammed National Park in Egypt (≈480 km²) and has been
protected ever since.
You can dive
Ras Mohammed by boat or from shore—two
completely different yet equally rewarding experiences. There is a €7 National Park fee charged per person for
all boat trips in Sharm and land-based trips to Ras Mohammed National Park. (Thistlegorm
trips excluded). The fees go
directly to the National Park Authority to support conservation across Egypt’s
protected areas.
Two of the
park’s most famous sites are Shark &
Yolanda Reefs, often listed among the top
ten dive sites in the world. Other renowned sites include Ras Ghozlani, Ras Za’atar, Jackfish Alley,
Eel Garden, Shark Observatory, and Anemone
City. The area is extremely rich in
hard and soft corals, with large
schools of fish and diverse marine life.
The dives at
Ras Mohammed are well suited to
experienced divers, with vertical
walls and drop-offs plunging to 750 m (2,460 ft). For safety, we recommend a minimum of 20 logged dives and Advanced Open
Water (or equivalent). Nitrox is
recommended to extend no-decompression time. Newer divers can still enjoy the
park by booking a private guide to
assist with currents and ensure a safe, unforgettable experience.
