Ras Mohammed National Park is one of the most famous dive locations in the world, It was declared a nature reserve for the first time in 1983 and has been under protection ever since.

Ras Mohammed is located at tip of the Sinai peninsula and is where the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba meet, with and area of about 480 km2, of which 135 km are wild lands, and 345 km are coral reefs and aquatic environments.

The Egyptian government charges an entrance fee per person per entry, no matter if you dive by boat or from shore.

This money directly goes towards the National Park authorities to protect this and other unique National Parks in Egypt.

The best destination for divers from all over the world

As a result of the enormous geographical diversity, the Ras Mohammed National Park as a dive destination contains a lot of fantastic dive sites, rich in many natural marine and terrestrial environments, which make it one of the best destinations for divers from all over the world.

The Ras Mohammed area is characterized by a dramatic coastal landscape of high cliffs made of fossilized corals, the deep vertical walls below the surface contain about 200 species of soft and hard coral reefs, types of mollusks, sea urchins, crustaceans, colorful fish, and endangered sea turtles.

You can dive Ras Mohammed by boat or from shore, both entirely different diving experiences, although equally rewarding.

Dive sites in Ras Mohammed

Two of the most famous dive sites at Ras Mohammed National Park are Shark & Yolanda Reef, ranked among the top ten dive sites in the world.

There are also a lot of other dive sites, such as Ras Ghozlani, Jackfish Alley, Eel Garden, Shark Observatory, and Anemone City. All dives at Ras Mohammed are well suited for experienced divers, because of their beautiful vertical walls and drop-offs that go down to 750m.
